All of our thatched roof buildings are thatched using South African Cape Reed tiles. They are a natural product making them aesthetically pleasing and ensuring they blend in perfectly with your garden. The Cape Reed is harvested from a replenishable, renewable resource and harvesting actually promotes growth. The Cape Reed is moulded into a polyurethane base. The reed used is completely solid, not hollow as is normal thatching grass, ensuring that no pieces can be pulled out. Each tile is vacuum treated with "Thatchbor" (BS476: Part 7 Class 2Y) fire retardant, fungicide and preservative, making it more durable and it therefore
lasts longer.
