Harrogate Brasserie – North Yorkshire

Brief

The smoking ban was the catalyst for our client. The business was a successful restaurant and hotel in the centre of Harrogate and the client needed to provide a whole new look to an area at the front of the premises, which was currently not used at all. A dedicated area was needed where customers could smoke but in addition a separate alfresco sheltered dining area was required.
The solution needed to be attractive, informal, give maximum dining space and be a complete contrast to the black and white Victorian façade of the building.

The Savannah Breeze House was ideal for the dining area, seating 6-8 for dinner. The Cedar shingle roof and the rich warms colour of the timbers provided a contrast to the façade, fitted snugly into the corner without taking up too much space. The building provided shade for this south facing property and enabled customers to continue to dine even in the rain.

A local company completed the design by adding, planters, bench seats and tables to the perimeter of the frontage. All of the planters were filled with evergreen shrubs and colourful annuals to create a wonderful relaxing summer atmosphere.

The client is delighted with the whole project and the Breeze House is the focal point of a whole new alfresco scene for the restaurant and is regularly booked for parties at the weekend.
